Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher for an EC Middle School program supporting students in a self-contained, non-severe setting. This full-time, contract role runs from now through June 4, 2027, offering the chance to make a lasting difference for middle school learners in a structured, supportive environment. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with hours from 7:15am to 3:15pm.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Special Education or related field
- Active Special Education Teacher certification valid for middle school instruction
- Previous experience working with students in a self-contained special education classroom preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Professionalism, patience, and commitment to fostering academic and social growth in students with diverse abilities
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction tailored to students in a self-contained, non-severe special education setting
- Develop and monitor individualized IEP goals in collaboration with families and school staff
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to accommodate varied learning needs
- Maintain records and track student progress, ensuring compliance with special education policies and timelines
- Foster a safe, structured, and positive learning environment for every student
- Consult with general education teachers, related service providers, and support staff to coordinate student services
