A well-established boutique litigation firm is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Commercial Litigation Associate with a focus on construction law. This opportunity offers hands-on exposure to sophisticated disputes and direct client engagement within a collaborative, high-performance legal team.
The ideal candidate will bring strong litigation fundamentals, strategic thinking, and a genuine interest in construction-related matters, including contract disputes, defect claims, and risk mitigation strategies within the building and development sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Handle all phases of commercial and construction-related litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation
Represent owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and design professionals in complex disputes
Analyze and litigate construction defect claims, breach of contract matters, lien and bond claims, and delay-related disputes
Draft and review construction contracts and related agreements to mitigate risk and support client objectives
Conduct thorough legal research and prepare persuasive briefs and memoranda
Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and client advisement
Maintain proactive communication with clients and deliver practical, business-minded legal guidance
Qualifications
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar
2 to 7 years of litigation experience, with exposure to construction law or complex commercial disputes preferred
Strong analytical, research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
Ability to manage multiple matters efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Professional maturity, sound judgment, and commitment to client service
