Job DescriptionWe are looking for a detail-oriented Data Entry Clerk to support city payment operations in Dunn, North Carolina. This Contract position focuses on processing transactions, maintaining accurate records, and assisting residents with payment and account-related questions. The role is ideal for someone who combines strong data entry accuracy with customer service skills and can manage financial information with a high level of care.

Responsibilities:
• Process payments for municipal services accurately and record transactions in the appropriate systems.
• Assist customers at the service window with billing questions, payment collection, and account support.
• Prepare routine cash deposits and ensure funds are balanced and submitted on schedule.
• Review daily usage and activity reports to identify discrepancies and escalate unusual findings.
• Track meter-related activity and arrange service requests when updates or corrections are needed.
• Place outbound calls regarding service interruptions, restorations, and outstanding account balances.
• Support the setup of new service accounts, including initiating connection and disconnection requests.
• Maintain records related to deposits, non-payment actions, and account status changes.
• Help oversee parking meter payment activity and respond to related service issues.• Experience in data entry with strong speed and accuracy, especially when entering numeric information.
• Background handling payments, billing records, or other transaction-based administrative work.
• Ability to provide attentive customer service in person and over the phone.
• Comfortable using computer systems to update account details, process payments, and maintain records.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to reconcile information with a high degree of accuracy.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive customer situations with care.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage a consistent daily workload.
