The role involves maintaining heavy equipment systems, performing commercial building repairs, servicing electrical and lighting systems, and supporting HVAC equipment across various areas such as guest rooms, offices, and rooftop units.
In addition to mechanical and electrical work, the technician assists with general interior upkeep—painting, drywall repair, carpentry tasks, and surface restoration. Plumbing responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing issues with commercial restroom fixtures, addressing leaks, clearing blockages, and ensuring reliable functionality of water and drainage systems. The technician also maintains multiple pool systems by monitoring water chemistry, inspecting mechanical components, and performing corrective maintenance to keep aquatic environments safe and compliant.
The role extends outdoors as well, with responsibilities that include grounds care, light landscaping, and seasonal duties such as snow removal using shovels, snowblowers, and a snowplow. Maintaining safe and organized workspaces is essential, and the technician is expected to use Parts Manuals, CMMS software, and related tools to track work orders, document maintenance activity, and order necessary parts efficiently.
