Job DescriptionOverview:We are seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused Service Writer to support our service department. This role plays a key part in managing service operations, assisting customers, and ensuring smooth communication between technicians, clients, and management.Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage work orders for electrical signage service requests.
  • Communicate with customers to schedule service appointments and provide status updates.
  • Coordinate with service technicians to ensure efficient job scheduling and completion.
  • Maintain accurate service records, including work performed and parts used.
  • Prepare estimates and invoices in a timely manner.
  • Assist in ordering and managing signage inventory and materials.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in service writing, customer service, or administrative support, preferably in electrical signage, construction, or similar fields.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and service management software.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Knowledge of signage components and installation processes is a plus.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management or leadership within the electrical or construction industry.
  • Strong team management and leadership capabilities.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and safety protocols.
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL and electrical/machinery certifications are a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Work Shifts:

  • 8-hour or 10-hour shifts
  • Monday to Friday, with weekend work as needed
  • Near Lombard, IL
