This Maintenance Technician performs more routine-level tasks and duties assigned and in assisting higher-level staff in performing more complex and difficult tasks. Employees at this level are not expected to perform job responsibilities with the same independence of direction and judgment as Maintenance Technician B level employees. Employees work under the immediate supervision of a Shift Supervisor or the Production Manager during this phase.
Primary Duties & Essential Functions
·Demonstrate that you can navigate the CMMS. Complete PM work orders as scheduled and be able to fill out all necessary fields within the CMMS.
·Ability to detect any abnormal conditions or problems with equipment i.e. leaking seals, noise bearings and abnormal conditions with moving components and fill out a repair/overhaul work order.
·Perform preventative maintenance tasks according to the task list on the work order.
·Lubricate, adjust, and maintain shop, field, and plant equipment including inspection, cleaning, and repairing valve, pipelines, pumps, compressors, and processing equipment
·Perform a wide variety of work relating to pumps: installation, inspection, lubrication, adjustments, and overall maintenance.
·Maintain, install, inspect, and repair routine to moderately complex piping systems of pvc, stainless steel, and copper tubing; identifies types of piping, fittings, and basic valves; cuts and threads pipes; and makes minor modifications to existing piping systems.
·Ensure maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
·Ability to learn the function and use of various measuring and test equipment. i.e.: VOM, calipers, micrometers, etc.
·Ability to do basic welding and cutting of metals both ferrous and non-ferrous.
·Tests, adjusts, modifies, and maintains digital and logic circuitry, microprocessor-controlled devices, elements, and components such as programmable logic controllers, process control equipment, telemetering devices, recorders, sensors, and controllers on water and wastewater treatment process instruments and devices.
·Prepares purchase requests for parts and materials and contracts vendors for pricing of specialized parts and services.
·Plans tasks, keeps records of work performed and makes estimates of labor and material necessary for the performance of the work.
·Will be expected to continue skills-based learning and training. This includes using an on-site training library (books, manuals, on-line resources) to develop needed skills.
·Must adhere to established policy/program on LOTO, machine guarding, hot work, and confined spaces
- Must complete LOTO training and follow job specific LOTO procedures for all equipment during the LOTO process
·Must be able to enter information into mapcon
·Be knowledgeable of all job functions related to production
- Keep work area clean and orderly at all times; during periods of downtime, clean and/or sweep floor area
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Ensure safety of self and others in area by following The Fremont Company’s Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety Standards
Buildings and Facilities:
·Perform minor maintenance on HVAC units.
·Install/repair or replace light fixtures, ballasts, switches, and outlets.
·Repair minor roof leaks.
·Diagnose and perform minor building repairs and alterations.
·Perform painting duties: sand, caulk, prime and paint.
·Conduct routine maintenance and safety facility inspections.
·Load, transport, and unload pipe, gravel, dirt, asphalt, and other materials and equipment.
·Minor concrete repairs; sidewalks, gutters, and other miscellaneous repairs.
·Must complete food safety, workplace safety, and job specific training per The Fremont Company’s training guidelines
·Must be certified to operate forklift, scissor lift, and follow all safety guidelines according to OSHA standard
