The SENIOR SQL Database Administrator will be responsible for providing reliable, cost-effective, & secure enterprise-wide support for business critical production & non-production databases for the Arkansas Integrated Revenue System (AIRS) .

-ON-SITE ONLY

-Expert Level SQL Database Administrator

-Position is available for extensions.

-NOTE: Some SQL shops have multiple members with each member performing specific functions. This position requires candidates that have recent experience in ALL aspects of SQL DBA Administration.

MINIMUM: 7 Years Experience SQL Server 2016 (or later versions) database administration:

  1. Installing and upgrading SQL Servers, including applying service packs
  2. Performing routine database maintenance
    1. Creating and scheduling SQL Server jobs to perform database maintenance activity
    2. Rebuilding indexes
    3. Updating statistics
    4. Consistency checks
    5. Monitoring error logs and event logs for database errors
  3. SQL Server native tools and services
    1. SQL Server Profiler
    2. Index Tuning Advisor
    3. SQL Server Configuration Manager
    4. Extended Events
    5. Performance Monitor
    6. Dynamic Management View
    7. SQL Server Broker Service
    8. Linked Servers
    9. MSDTC
    10. SQL Server System Databases
    11. Database Mail
    12. SQL Server Health Checks and Policies
  4. Managing SQL Server security and auditing
    1. User security
    2. Database roles
    3. Authentication methods
    4. SQL Server and database auditing
    5. Encryption at rest, transit, and backup
  5. Capacity Planning for storage and database objects
    1. Maintaining and managing SQL Server disk space to ensure storage is properly utilized
    2. Index and statistics usage
    3. Managing disk storage for Windows Failover Cluster Service (WFSC)
  6. Database backup and recovery
    1. Establishing standards and schedules for database backups
    2. Developing recovery procedures to meet RPO and RTO
    3. Restoring databases with point in time recovery
  7. Creating and testing Disaster Recovery plans
  8. Proficient in TSQL coding, tuning, and ETL methodologies
  9. SQL Server High Availability Methods
    1. Mirroring
    2. Always On

Required: 5 Years Windows Server Administration experience:

  1. Building and maintaining Windows Host and Guest Servers
  2. Installing and managing end point protection
  3. Nessus configuration and vulnerability scans
  4. Application Server, Web Server, File Server, and FTP Server configuration and maintenance
  5. Utilizing PowerShell for administration tasks
  6. Windows Failover Cluster configuration and maintenance
  7. Windows Server Roles and Features
  8. .NET Framework Components

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  1. Experience with FAST GenTax/DS-VS architecture and application maintenance
    Familiarity with industry security standards (PUB1075, FIPS, and PII)
  2. Cloud computing knowledge
  3. Cloud storage, backup, and restore mechanisms
  4. F5 administration
  5. Firewall administration and maintenance
  6. SAN, RAID Controller, and other storage device maintenance knowledge
  7. Active Directory knowledge (GPO, FQDN, DNS Server, SPN)
  8. Email, SMTP, and Proxy Server troubleshooting
  9. Web Services development and support
  10. Availability to provide 24 hour support
  11. Strong communication skills, both oral and written
