About the Role:

The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and safety of facility infrastructure by performing a wide range of repair and maintenance tasks. This position requires hands-on expertise in mechanical, electrical, and structural systems to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions promptly. The technician will be responsible for maintaining plumbing systems, electrical wiring, and mechanical equipment to prevent downtime and extend the life of assets. Attention to detail and precision in measuring and repair work are essential to uphold quality standards and comply with safety regulations. Ultimately, the Maintenance Technician contributes to a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment that supports overall organizational productivity.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in maintenance work involving plumbing, electrical wiring, mechanical repair, and carpentry.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments accurately.
  • Physical ability to climb ladders and perform manual labor.
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to talk and hear clearly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical certification or vocational training in maintenance, HVAC, or a related field.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Knowledge of safety standards and compliance regulations in facility maintenance.
  • Additional skills in drywall installation and repair.
  • Prior experience working in a commercial or industrial maintenance environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, plumbing, electrical wiring, and structural components.
  • Diagnose malfunctions and execute repairs on equipment and building systems using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Install, maintain, and repair drywall, carpentry elements, and other building materials as needed.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools to ensure accuracy in repairs and installations.
  • Climb ladders and access elevated areas safely to perform maintenance tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to report issues and coordinate maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, materials used, and time spent on tasks.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

Skills:

The Maintenance Technician applies plumbing skills daily to repair leaks, unclog drains, and maintain water systems, ensuring operational efficiency. Precision measuring is critical when fitting parts or installing components to guarantee proper alignment and function. Drywall and carpentry skills are used to restore or modify building structures, maintaining the facility's integrity and appearance. Mechanical repair and electrical wiring expertise enable the technician to troubleshoot and fix complex systems, minimizing downtime.
