Job Title: [VAL-011-007] Mid-Level Software Automation Engineer
Valytics LLC is seeking a mid-level Software Automation Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts to ensure the quality and reliability of Electronic Healthcare Record (EHR) applications. This role ensures functionality, performance, and compliance with healthcare standards through advanced automation frameworks and testing strategies to reduce manual testing efforts through robust automation frameworks. The ideal candidate has experience in test automation, DevSecOps, and healthcare or regulated environments, and is comfortable working in an Agile, mission-focused environment supporting DOD healthcare initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of automation tests scripts supporting EHR modernization efforts.
- Review test scripts to ensure appropriate tests are created and executed correctly to verify requirements.
- Manage testing effort and defects though lifecycle utilizing test management tools such as BMC Remedy and Jira.
- Participate in code reviews and requirements analysis.
- Knowledge of Micro Focus Unified Functional Testing (UFT) automation tool for test script development and execution.
- Utilize source code repository/configuration management (CM) tools such as IBM Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM).
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering from an accredited institution
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DOD security clearance
- On-site requirement at our McLean, VA office – only candidates local to the DMV (DC Metro, Southern MD, Northern VA) will be considered
- 5-7 years in software testing or QA roles with at least 5 years focused on test automation
- Proficiency in automation tools – Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, UFT, etc.
- Scripting skills – Python, Java, C#
- Understanding of healthcare workflows, compliance (HIPAA), and interoperability standards (HL7/FHIR)
- Active Directory experience
- Ability to function both with minimal supervision and in a team-oriented unit
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
- EHR experience
- DOD 8570 certification (Security+, CISSP, CCNA)
- Knowledge of Oracle Application Test Suite (OATS), Oracle OpenScript
