We work with a wide range of businesses across North America, combining visual technology with practical business tools to streamline highly-qualified lead generation, sales quoting, building purchases, and customer engagement. About the RoleThis is a people first Director role focused on coaching, execution, and building reliable engineering practices that deliver product outcomes. You will succeed at IdeaRoom if you are a people first leader, trusted and appreciated as a manager, mentor and advocate, and will drive process and consistency.What You’ll Do

  • Manage and develop the engineering team, run one on ones, professional development, promotions, and career plans.
  • Coach and mentor engineers, create repeatable career development programs and run manager development so teams advance and retain top talent.
  • Own engineering execution, including sprint planning, capacity planning, retrospectives, release management and flow metrics.
  • Collaborate closely with Product on backlog grooming, prioritization and acceptance criteria.
  • Define and enforce standards for code quality, testing, CI/CD, observability, incident response and architecture choices that balance speed and reliability.
  • Improve developer experience, training, documentation and onboarding so teams move faster with less friction.
  • Partner with Product and Customer Experience to ensure engineering work delivers measurable customer value.
  • Foster a remote first engineering culture that promotes empathy, clear communication and continuous learning, hiring and implementing practices that keep teammates connected.

What We’re Looking For

  • More than seven years as a software engineer, with deep experience managing engineering teams for SaaS platforms.
  • Proven coach and people developer with concrete examples of promotions and growth.
  • Proven ability to lead agile teams and execute high-quality delivery processes.
  • Hands on familiarity with modern web stacks and cloud operations, including Node, React, Redux, TypeScript and AWS or similar platforms. Three.js and 3D experience is a plus.
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience, or a demonstrable track record of technical leadership.
