Building Maintenance Technician
Location: Boca Raton, FL 33443 (Six buildings within close proximity)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Hours: 40 hours per week + on-call responsibilities
Compensation: $60,000–$65,000 base salary (based on experience)
Benefits: Health insurance (60/40 contribution), optional dental & vision, 2 weeks PTO after 1 year, 5 personal days after 90 days
About the Role
Our client is seeking a hands-on Building Maintenance Technician to oversee maintenance operations across six commercial buildings in Boca Raton. This position requires a strong general maintenance background with the ability to independently assess, diagnose, and resolve issues while working closely with the Property Manager. The Supervisor will lead day-to-day maintenance efforts, support preventative care initiatives, and help ensure the properties remain safe, compliant, and well-maintained.
Required Skills & Experience
- Electrical systems troubleshooting and minor repairs
- Plumbing systems maintenance and repair
- Drywall repair and finishing
- Painting
- Strong general “all-around” property maintenance experience
- Ability to assess, diagnose, and repair maintenance issues independently
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in an occupied property environment
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 40–50 pounds as needed
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs
- Lead and complete complex work orders, including initial assessment and hands-on repairs.
- Follow up daily on existing work orders to ensure timely and thorough completion.
- Walk the properties daily to identify deficiencies and create work orders as needed.
- Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are implemented and maintained across all buildings.
- Perform general maintenance tasks including electrical, plumbing, painting, drywall, fixture installation, and basic carpentry.
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely for both staff and building occupants.
Property Management Support
- Work closely with the Property Manager to resolve maintenance and property-related issues quickly and cost-effectively.
- Procure and distribute materials needed to support efficient completion of work orders.
- Schedule and coordinate licensed contractors for specialized services such as major plumbing, electrical, roofing, and other large-scale repairs.
- Help ensure properties remain up to date and compliant with Palm Beach County and Fire Department regulations.
Equipment & Asset Management
- Maintain and ensure proper care of all small motorized equipment.
- Oversee maintenance and care of the property lift and monitor internal GPS systems as required.
Administrative Duties
- Read and respond to emails daily.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work orders, repairs, and service calls.
- Track maintenance activities and provide updates to the Property Manager as needed.
On-Call Responsibilities
- Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to after-hours service needs.
- Receive and assess after-hours calls:

- Monday–Friday: 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM
- 24 hours on weekends and holidays
- Communicate with tenants to assess maintenance issues and determine next steps.
- Dispatch on-call personnel or respond personally when necessary.
- Receive and respond to all building fire alarm calls.
- Respond onsite as needed to meet Palm Beach County Fire Department personnel when dispatched.
