Your workdays will be Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, and Fridays from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, leaving your evenings open for personal time. You’ll be guiding a caseload of 12 students in grades 6-8 within a Structured Development Class (SDC) Special Education setting, ensuring each student receives the tailored support they deserve.
Ideal candidates will meet these qualifications:
- Active California Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential (required)
- Previous experience teaching in a special education environment, particularly SDC classrooms, is a plus
- Demonstrated skill in developing and implementing IEPs
- Strong organizational abilities and communication skills
- Passion for creating inclusive educational opportunities for diverse learners
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging instructional plans based on individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Collaborating with classroom aides, administrators, related services staff, and families
- Utilizing evidence-based strategies to foster academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting student progress in compliance with district and state guidelines
- Supporting students’ transitions and independence within the school setting
