Compensation: $250000 - $275.000 per year (commensurate with experience)
Position Summary:
Direct Counsel is representing a well-known firm seeking an Associate to join its Labor & Employment Department in New Jersey. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced employment defense attorney to handle a wide range of litigation and counseling matters for employers.
Key Responsibilities:

Defend employers in litigation matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, accommodations, wage and hour, and other employment-related claims.

Advise clients on compliance issues related to leaves of absence, performance management, and terminations.

Draft personnel policies, handbooks, and employment agreements.

Provide counsel on day-to-day workplace law issues and risk management strategies.

Represent clients in administrative proceedings and employment-related disputes.
Qualifications:

J.D. from an accredited law school.

6+ years of employment-specific, defense-side experience.

Strong litigation skills, including research, writing, and oral advocacy.

Admission to the New Jersey State Bar AND New York State Bar

Strong academic credentials and excellent communication skills.

Ability to work independently, manage cases, and take ownership of matters.
Compensation & Benefits:

Base salary: $250,000 - $275,000 per year (based on experience).
