Job Description Bale Tie Worker Job Summary:
The Bale Tie Worker is responsible for securing compressed material bales using wire or other approved tying materials. This position requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Secure and tie completed bales using wire, ties, or other designated materials.
- Inspect bales to ensure they are properly compressed, secured, and ready for storage or shipment.
- Position and handle tying materials as required.
- Cut, twist, tighten, and secure wires around bales using appropriate hand tools or equipment.
- Monitor the quality and stability of each bale before it moves to the next stage of production.
- Remove or report damaged, loose, or improperly secured bales.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Communicate with supervisors and coworkers regarding production or safety concerns.
- Assist with other general production duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to frequently bend, reach, twist, and use hands and arms.
- Ability to lift and move materials as required by the position.
- Ability to work around production machinery and in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to safely handle wire and hand tools.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
Qualifications:
- Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or production experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to following workplace safety procedures.
