We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, trucks, and equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools
- Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify needed repairs or safety concerns
- Repair or replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and fuel systems
- Perform preventive maintenance services according to manufacturer guidelines
- Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company procedures
- Communicate repair needs and timelines with supervisors or customers
- Keep work area clean and organized
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical or trade school preferred)
- Proven experience as a Diesel Technician or Mechanic
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy equipment systems
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair equipment
- Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus, if applicable)
- Ability to lift heavy components and work in various conditions
Preferred Skills
- ASE Diesel Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with fleet maintenance
- Welding or fabrication experience
- Strong problem-solving and time-management skills
Work Environment
- Shop and/or field-based work
- May require standing, lifting, bending, and working in loud environments
- Possible overtime or on-call work depending on business needs
