Job Description

This is a high-growth, independent company in the power generation services sector, specializing in the repair and overhaul of industrial gas turbines for some of the world’s most demanding operators. With a focus on quality, innovation, and responsiveness, they’ve become a go-to engineering partner for major players in energy, utilities, and industrial power—including leading integrated oil & gas firms and independent power producers.

Privately backed and aggressively investing in its technical capabilities, this firm has:

  • Scaled significantly over the past 5+ years through targeted acquisitions and facility expansions.
  • Built out advanced in-house capabilities across metallurgy, fuel systems, coatings, and additive manufacturing.
  • Consolidated engineering, production, and corporate functions into a newly upgraded technical HQ and shop campus, dramatically increasing output efficiency and supporting the repair of GE, Siemens, and Westinghouse-class heavy-duty gas turbines (HDGTs).

This group is known for OEM-level technical excellence with independent flexibility, serving a national and international customer base that includes names like Chevron, Shell, NRG, and Calpine.

🎯 What You’ll Own

  • Lead and evolve the Engineering & Technology function, shaping technical strategy and shop repair methods for HDGT platforms (GE, Siemens, Westinghouse).
  • Build a high-performance culture, guiding engineers and elevating cross-team innovation.
  • Champion advanced repair technologies: NDT, coatings, digital inspection, and additive manufacturing.
  • Drive full lifecycle: risk management, technical oversight, budgeting, proposals, oversight of engineering initiatives.
  • Serve as bridge between field, operations, sales, QA, and executive leadership—ensuring technical excellence and regulatory compliance.
  • Embed best practices to reduce cycle time and raise repair quality, while influencing talent development and structural engineering growth.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 10+ years in power generation / O&G sectors, with at least 5 years as an engineering leader.
  • Deep technical experience in heavy-duty gas turbines (HDGT)—component repair, metallurgical integrity, coatings, NDT, reverse engineering.
  • Demonstrated leadership of high-impact, multidisciplinary engineering teams in industrial repair or OEM environments.
  • Strong business acumen—budgeting, stakeholder influence, and collaboration across core functions.
  • Passion for process optimization, emerging tech in shop environments, and fostering high-performance teams aligned to strategic business objectives.
