Project Engineer – Vertical Construction
Alpha Inc. | Full-Time | Exempt
Location: Kauaʻi, Hawaiʻi
Department: Alpha Vertical
Reports to: Superintendent

The Role: What You'll Actually Be Responsible For
As a Project Engineer, you'll be a critical connector between the field, the office, and the design team—ensuring projects stay aligned, informed, and moving forward.
Project Execution & Coordination
- Support the planning, organization, and execution of vertical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
- Participate in project meetings and provide accurate updates on progress, schedule, and constraints.
Technical Review & Documentation (Precision Matters Here)
- Review drawings, specifications, and submittals for accuracy, constructability, and contract compliance.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change documentation, meeting minutes, and project reports with discipline and urgency.
- Assist with closeout documentation, punch lists, as-builts, and final inspections.
Cost, Schedule & Procurement Support
- Assist with budget tracking, cost reports, and schedule updates to help keep projects financially and operationally aligned.
- Track material orders, rentals, and subcontractor invoices to support accurate cost control.
Field Presence, Quality & Safety
- Conduct site walks and inspections to monitor progress, quality, and coordination.
- Support jobsite safety initiatives and help reinforce compliance with Alpha's safety standards.
- Be visible, responsive, and reliable to the field team—this role is not desk-bound.
Relationships & Culture
- Maintain professional, solution-oriented communication with clients and project stakeholders.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (required).
- 2–4 years of experience as a Project Engineer or in a similar construction role (vertical/commercial preferred).
- Strong understanding of building systems, construction sequencing, and plan/spec interpretation.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel; experience with Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, and construction management software required.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- OSHA 30 or similar certifications are a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time, exempt position with a base salary range of $85,000–$95,000 annually, commensurate with experience, capability, and demonstrated performance.

Employment at Alpha Inc. is contingent upon:
• Completion of standard pre-employment screening.
