Job DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our team in Mequon, Wisconsin. This Contract-to-permanent position offers the opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting attorneys and ensuring the smooth operation of legal and administrative functions. In this dynamic role, you will combine receptionist duties with legal assistant responsibilities, contributing to both client service and legal case management.

Responsibilities:
• Schedule and manage appointments, meetings, and conference calls for attorneys and staff.
• Maintain a welcoming and organized front desk area while handling incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries.
• Draft, edit, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, and correspondence.
• Organize and maintain client case files, ensuring both digital and physical records are up-to-date.
• Perform e-filing and traditional filing of legal documents with courts and government agencies.
• Monitor and track deadlines, court dates, and other key timelines to ensure timely submissions.
• Conduct basic legal research and compile relevant information for attorney review.
• Assist with billing tasks, including time entry, invoicing, and following up with clients.
• Manage office supplies and coordinate with other office locations to ensure operational efficiency.
• Provide excellent client service while maintaining strict confidentiality.• High school diploma or equivalent; additional legal or administrative certifications are a plus.
• At least 3 years of experience in a legal or law firm setting, preferably with a focus on estate planning or corporate law.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice management software.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a detail-oriented approach.
• Familiarity with court filing procedures, including e-filing and traditional methods.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
• Experience handling billing processes and case management systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
