Job Summary:
The Asphalt Milling Machine Operator is responsible for operating the milling machine to remove asphalt and/or concrete pavement to specific depth, ensuring safety and efficiency in the job. This position is a crew member essential to the removal/milling of asphalt or concrete on highways, private roadways, parking lots and driveways. This is a highly skilled position involving the grade control and operation of a cold asphalt milling machine.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Operating and maintaining the milling machine to remove and mill asphalt or concrete on various surfaces.

Using grade control devices to ensure proper cutting patterns on pavement surfaces.

Set-up, adjust controls on milling machine for each specific project to achieve the desired depth.

Inspecting and replacing milling teeth on the milling drum to maintain optimal cutting performance.

Performing general laborer duties as assigned, including lifting, bending, and standing.

Maintaining visual contact with co-workers on the ground and trucks in front of the machine.

Performing preventive maintenance tasks such as adjusting, fluid checks, replacing parts, and lubricating equipment.
