Job Summary:

This job is in the corrugated paper industry and offers a stable position with a growing company along with career development opportunities.

The Maintenance Manager will oversee and manage the maintenance operations of the machine and all plant equipment, as well as the facility when needed. Implementation of preventive maintenance programs and processes to ensure efficient equipment performance is a must. The maintenance manager is responsible for the oversight of the maintenance team across three shifts. Weekend maintenance projects and preventative maintenance tasks will need to be executed under the direction of the maintenance manager. As a maintenance manager, coaching, teaching, providing efficient training and ensuring safety compliance to the maintenance department staff will be a top priority. The maintenance manager is expected to work alongside the maintenance team to trouble shoot and complete mechanical and electrical repairs. The maintenance manager is expected to work closely across all departments in a leadership capacity to maximize plant efficiency. This includes budgeting, reports, and communication on problem solving and mechanical issues with the Plant Manager, in addition to process improvement collaboration with the leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and uphold safety protocols for all maintenance procedures
  • Manage daily maintenance operations to ensure timely repair and optimize preventative maintenance in an industrial machine setting
  • Coordinate with production staff any potential for machine improvement, repair and safeguarding when needed
  • Coordinate with production team to schedule any maintenance tasks without interrupting production
  • Utilize Maintain X to track and complete work orders
  • Coach maintenance staff
  • Promote shop organization and cleanliness among maintenance staff
  • Ensure purchasing process is followed according to company policies
  • Oversee parts ordering, maintenance budget and spending
  • Keep maintenance shop stocked adequately for any needed parts kept on hand, and tools

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Industrial and/or Electrical Maintenance Tech schooling is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field is advantageous
  • Strong supervisory skills with experience in leading maintenance teams and managing staff effectively
  • Expertise in equipment maintenance, preventative maintenance, and ensuring optimal performance of machinery
  • Prior experience in industrial maintenance and manufacturing environments required
  • Prior experience in a paper corrugated plant is advantageous
  • Possess and willingness to use hands-on skills in maintenance repair of industrial equipment and systems
  • Proficient in maintenance software systems and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to read schematics and pneumatics
  • Working knowledge in troubleshooting and repair of PLCs, drives and motor controls
  • Able to locate issues in supervisory systems (systems that control multiple machines)
  • Strong communication skills with staff and intercompany departments
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment

Working Conditions:

  • Office and plant floor environment
  • Exposure to heavy machinery, noise, dust, hot and cold temperatures
  • Ability to climb stairs, bend, stretch etc to access parts of the corrugator machine
  • Ability to lift up-to 50 lbs. occasionally and operate or supervise around industrial equipment and power tools
