Job Description
The Legal/Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Intern will provide services to the Company, within the Legal and GRC Departments, including researching laws and regulations, investigating facts, preparing legal documents and policies/procedures.
Job Responsibilities
· Conduct detailed research in current area(s) of legal concern or new area(s) of law or regulations to determine respective impact on RouteOne and RouteOne's Members/customers (e.g., state/provincial and federal privacy laws).
· Draft memoranda in connection with research conducted to document and explain the impact of relevant laws and regulations (e.g., state/provincial and federal privacy laws).
· Review contracts (e.g., NDAs, SOWs, etc.) and marketing materials as assigned.
· Handles routine correspondence for Legal and GRC Department business.
· Establishes and maintains a fully-indexed and cross-referenced bank of briefs, memoranda, and other research documents previously produced by the Company.
· Takes notes at meetings as requested and reduces notes to the appropriate file.
· Prepares graphic aids, PowerPoint presentations, tables, slides, and other audio/visual devices for the Legal and GRC Departments.
· Provides assistance to the Legal and GRC Departments relating to responses to issues or preparation and review of documents.
· Assist in drafting new policies and procedures as needed; including tracking on spreadsheets, gathering signatures, and posting on SharePoint.
· Support GRC Team as needed, including (i) collecting and organize responsive information per GRC Team direction; (ii) contributing to building a database of "core" responses; and (iii) reviewing questionnaires to determine common questions, organize responses, and standardize documentation to build efficiency in answering the multitude of questionnaires that are received.
· Performs related work as required.
· Maintains safety, security, and privacy standards throughout all areas of responsibility.
Skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Visio.
· Proficient in legal research software (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw, etc.).

Other Essential Requirements
· Graduation from or enrollment in an accredited four-year university. Completion of first year of law school with interest in privacy/data security preferred.
· One (1) or more years of professional related experience or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
