Job Purpose:

Qiddiya Investment Company is on the lookout for a dynamic and seasoned professional to join our executive leadership team as the Executive Director - Finance (Sports - Art - Culture). In this pivotal role, you will lead financial operations across our diverse portfolio within the sports, art, and culture sectors, ensuring effective financial management and driving strategic initiatives that align with our mission to create an unparalleled entertainment ecosystem.

The Executive Director will oversee financial planning, analysis, and reporting, while partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure financial viability and support for creative and cultural projects. Your strategic insights will significantly influence our investments in innovative experiences that engage audiences and promote cultural development.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Leadership:

  • Lead the finance function, providing strategic direction and oversight for all financial aspects of sports, art, and culture initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to develop financial strategies that enhance profitability while supporting innovative projects.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the leadership team, offering insights and recommendations based on thorough financial analysis.

2. Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Direct the budgeting process, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic priorities and project timelines.
  • Establish robust forecasting methodologies to provide accurate financial projections for diverse artistic and cultural ventures.
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, analyzing variances and advising on corrective actions.

3. Financial Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare and present accurate financial reports to the executive leadership and board of directors, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, supporting informed decision-making.
  • Evaluate financial implications of proposed projects, initiatives, and investments, facilitating data-driven strategic planning.

4. Risk Management:

  • Implement financial controls and risk assessment processes to mitigate financial risks associated with sports, art, and cultural projects.
  • Develop and execute risk management strategies that protect the company’s assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Work closely with internal audit to ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures.

5. Team Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
  • Establish clear goals, performance metrics, and professional development plans for team members.
  • Encourage innovative thinking and problem-solving capabilities within the finance team.

6. Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Engage with key stakeholders, including government entities, partners, and sponsors, to build strong financial and strategic relationships.
  • Lead discussions around financial proposals, ensuring alignment with stakeholder expectations and project objectives.
  • Communicate effectively the financial strategy and implications to diverse audiences, translating complex concepts into understandable terms.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • Certifications: CPA, CFA, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years in financial leadership roles, preferably in the sports, arts, culture, or entertainment industries.
  • Expertise: Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, analysis, and reporting, with a strong understanding of project finance.
  • Strategic Acumen: Demonstrated ability to link financial performance to strategic goals, with experience in decision-support analysis.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing and leading high-performing teams.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at various levels.
  • Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with financial software and systems, including ERP, budgeting, and forecasting tools.
