Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Assistant Daycare Director to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this pivotal role, you will support the overall management and daily operations of the daycare center, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children, staff, and families. Your leadership will help foster a positive atmosphere that promotes learning, development, and community involvement. Duties
- Assist the Director in overseeing daily center operations, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations and organizational policies. Must have experience with OCFS rules and regulations.
- Support curriculum development initiatives that promote age-appropriate learning experiences and developmental milestones
- Supervise teaching staff and classroom activities to maintain high-quality educational standards
- Participate in strategic planning to improve program effectiveness, enrollment, and family engagement
- Provide mentorship and supervision to staff members, fostering professional growth and teamwork
- Ensures that records in the classroom such as daily attendance, meal counts, portfolios and education are kept
- Break Staff including bathroom breaks
- Substitute in classrooms when needed
- Maintain Ratios in classrooms
- Provide tours to prospective families
- Supervise staff in adhering to OCFS regulations
- Job requires Monday-Friday 9:00 am-5:00 pm
Qualifications
- Must have a AS,BS or MA in teaching or a CDA
- Experience working with young children
- CPR, First Aid, and Matt certified. Can be added.
- Proven experience in education administration or management within early childhood or daycare settings
- Strong background in curriculum development, classroom teaching, and working directly with young children
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience supervising staff and managing teams. Lead Teachers can qualify.
- Management experience in a licensed childcare or educational environment is highly preferred
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities with organization and professionalism
