Job DescriptionSecurity Service Technician (On‑Site / Field Role – NOT IT)
This is a hands-on, on-site service position—not an IT or helpdesk role.
We are seeking a reliable and self‑driven Security Service Technician who works in the field troubleshooting, servicing, and programming commercial access control and security systems after installation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, moving between customer sites, and solving real-world hardware and system issues.
What This Job Is
- On‑site, blue‑collar field service work
- Troubleshooting and repairing physical security systems
- Programming and servicing access control panels after installation
- Working independently at customer facilities
- Driving to job sites and representing the company in the field
What This Job Is NOT
- ❌ This is not an IT, software development, or helpdesk role
- ❌ No remote work
- ❌ No internal corporate IT support
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, service, program, and test commercial access control systems on-site
- Diagnose and resolve issues with access control panels, readers, door hardware, and controllers
- Program access control systems after installation teams complete the physical install
- Troubleshoot and program networked IP video surveillance systems
- Service intrusion alarm systems and other IoT-connected security devices
- Work directly with customers on-site to resolve issues efficiently and professionally
- Operate independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality work
- Maintain strong attendance, punctuality, and accountability
Required Experience & Skills
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and programming networked access control systems
- Practical working knowledge of networking as it relates to security systems (IP-based devices, not enterprise IT)
- Comfortable working on customer networks only as needed to support security systems
- Ability to work independently, manage service calls, and problem-solve in the field
- Strong sense of responsibility and reliability

- Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR
- Comfortable driving to multiple job sites
- Strong customer service mindset when working face-to-face with clients
- Experience servicing, troubleshooting, programming, and testing enterprise security systems
Training & Equipment
- Training provided for the right candidate
- Company vehicle provided once full‑time status is achieved

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
