$98,913 to $117,024 annually DOE

Job Summary
The Central Office (CO) Engineer will support the voice engineering team by providing technical support
of network switch systems and associated components. The CO Engineer assist with CO Engineer will be
responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting of critical voice and TDM network elements, including
Adtran TA 5000 systems, timing clocks, announcers, alarms, and backup equipment. The CO Engineer
will also support special projects involving switch upgrades, re-homes, and decommissions. This position
will work Monday - Friday Pacific Time with an occasional on call duty.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities listed below are a range of duties performed by the employee

• Support and execute voice network projects including switch re-homes, adds/removals, and
collapses.
• Participate in VoIP initiatives and hybrid technology deployments.
• Process and manage requests related to billing collectors and Infinium project inputs.
• Perform proactive maintenance, upgrades, and replacements of switch infrastructure and legacy
TDM systems.
• Collaborate with voice engineering and operations teams to deliver reliable and scalable voice
services.
• Read, design, and modify MetaSolv Solution (M6) orders to support service provisioning and
order management workflows.
• Initiate Engineering Work Orders (EWOs) to remove, update, and establish internal
facilities/trunks/GR-303s on sites.
• Provide detailed specifications to the Central Office Engineering (COEI) group for the installation
of equipment.
• Track submitted EWOs and escalate to other organizations if stalled.
• Orders minor material in SCI (Supply Chain Interface) for unplanned projects or per COEI request
i.e. Power and Ethernet Cables.
• Perform other duties as required to support the business and evolving organization
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field – or 5 to 7 years of
equivalent industry experience required.
• Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ experience working in a central office environment or
equivalent experience is required.
• Proficient in reading, designing, and modifying MetaSolv Solution (M6) orders.
• Extensive knowledge and experience with Adtran TA 5000 systems is preferred.
• Strong understanding of Pseudo Wire technologies and their application within CO networks is
preferred.

Work Environment
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a
computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work is primarily a modern office
setting.
