Employment & Labor Associate Attorney
Los Angeles, Santa Monica, or San Diego
Direct Counsel is seeking an Employment & Labor Associate Attorney with 1–3 years of experience to join a leading law firm with a strong national platform and a highly respected employment practice.
About the Role:
This position offers hands-on, substantive work across a wide range of employment matters. The ideal candidate brings broad experience and strong judgment, along with an interest in growing within a dynamic and collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities:

Handle all phases of employment litigation, including case development, legal research and writing, discovery, witness interviews, and brief drafting

Provide employment counseling on policies and practices, statutory and regulatory compliance, and employment/separation agreements

Work closely with partners and senior attorneys, with opportunities to mentor junior associates

Contribute to a practice that values initiative, teamwork, and high-quality client service
Qualifications:

1–3 years of employment law experience

Strong academic credentials and excellent legal writing and communication skills

Demonstrated motivation, initiative, and professionalism

Active California Bar admission required
Compensation & Benefits:

Salary range: $225,000–$260,000, depending on location and experience
