RIGHTSTONE IS HIRING! We are seeking a Senior Technical Support Engineer to join our Engineering team in Houston, TX with $90/hr pay, specializing in metal annulus seal and wellhead/tree equipment. This role is critical to the successful development and qualification of new wellhead sealing systems. You will provide advanced technical guidance, perform complex analyses, and support testing and troubleshooting efforts for new product engineering projects. APPLY NOW!
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and apply company and customer specifications related to product engineering
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) on assemblies incorporating seal elements using ANSYS
- Define material specifications and geometries for metal annulus seals and their associated design features
- Develop and review detailed qualification test procedures
- Provide on-site support for qualification testing activities within the Houston area
- Troubleshoot manufacturing and testing challenges, recommending effective solutions
- Serve as a subject matter expert for wellhead sealing systems and mentor less experienced engineers
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related discipline)
- 15+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, particularly with API 6A and/or API 17D standards
- Recognized expertise in finite element analysis (ANSYS) and wellhead sealing technology
- Proven track record in developing and validating metal seals for wellhead annulus applications
- Deep understanding of vendor capabilities related to metal and elastomeric sealing solutions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering and sourcing teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow established processes and procedures
