Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Network Administrator to support critical network infrastructure across multiple secure government sites. This role involves proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of network issues to ensure seamless mission operations. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in enterprise-level routers, switches, encryption devices, and DoD-compliant security protocols.
Primary Responsibilities
- Monitor infrastructure systems for alarms, messages, and performance issues
- Identify and resolve network problems or escalate as necessary
- Troubleshoot using scripts and standard procedures
- Resolve or escalate issues related to enterprise routers and switches
- Coordinate with vendors during outages or service degradations
- Process Authorized Service Interruptions (ASIs) under management direction
- Maintain network security posture via updates, STIGs, IOS upgrades, and patching
- Participate in on-call rotation and support day-to-day operations
- Assist with special projects as assigned by the site lead
Basic Qualifications
- 9+ years of network experience analyzing and resolving complex issues related to hardware, circuits, and transmission logic
- Active DoD Secret clearance
- Active CompTIA Security+ or CCNP Security certification
- Active CCNA certification
- 8+ years of senior-level LAN switching experience (VLANs, VTP, Port Security, Spanning Tree, Layer 2/3 switching)
- 8+ years of experience with Layer 3 routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS)
- 8+ years of experience with classified and unclassified L1/L2 network troubleshooting
- Proficient in maintaining and troubleshooting encryption devices and DoD management tools (e.g., GEM-X)
- Familiar with DoD COMSEC procedures and network/application hardening
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and Cisco DNA Center
- Familiarity with Pentagon, Air Force, and AFNCR environments
- Experience working at the Pentagon, JBA, or JBAB
