Fire Sprinkler Engineer/Draftsman

Job Description

We are seeking a Fire Sprinkler Engineer/Draftsman to join the Design Department and support a mixed portfolio of commercial buildings, industrial facilities, residential developments, and educational projects. Reporting to the Design Department Manager, this primarily office-based role will occasionally visit project sites and contribute to complete fire protection design packages, coordination, permitting, construction documentation, and project closeout deliverables. This position offers growth opportunities toward Project Engineer, Senior Designer, or Engineering Supervisor.

Responsibilities

Develop fire protection designs and fire sprinkler layouts.
Perform hydraulic calculations for fire sprinkler systems.
Prepare CAD-based drawings and construction documentation.
Produce permit drawings, shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built documentation.
Ensure designs comply with applicable fire protection codes and standards.
Coordinate fire protection plans with project teams and other disciplines.
Support complete design packages for commercial, industrial, residential, and educational projects.
Participate in occasional site visits and maintain accurate project documentation.

Required Qualifications

4+ years of experience in fire sprinkler design and drafting.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or a related field.
NICET certification in Water-Based Systems Layout.
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and hydraulic calculation software.
Knowledge of NFPA 13 and fire sprinkler system design.
Experience preparing construction documentation and coordinating projects.
Strong attention to detail.
