About the Role
As a Labor & Employment Associate, you will step into a high-impact role defending world-class organizations in their most critical workplace challenges. You will navigate the complexities of Californias unique legal landscape, managing everything from "bet-the-company" class actions to strategic employment counseling. This position offers early responsibility and the chance to work alongside industry-leading partners on matters that define the modern workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Litigation Defense: Manage and execute defense strategies for complex class action and PAGA litigation, as well as high-stakes single-plaintiff claims.
- Strategic Advocacy: Lead fact investigations, draft persuasive motions, and oversee sophisticated discovery processes in both state and federal courts.
- Employment Counseling: Provide proactive, high-level counsel to corporate clients on compliance, risk mitigation, and evolving labor laws.
- Case Management: Oversee matters from inception through resolution, including mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation.
- Client Engagement: Act as a primary point of contact for in-house counsel and human resources executives at leading global companies.
Requirements
- Experience: 2–4 years of dedicated Labor & Employment litigation experience within a large law firm environment.
- Technical Expertise: Proven track record in California-specific litigation, including meaningful exposure to PAGA and class action defense.
- Skills: Exceptional writing and analytical capabilities, with the ability to distill complex legal issues into actionable client advice.
- Academic Credentials: Distinguished academic record from a top-tier law school.
- Bar Admission: Active member in good standing of the California Bar is required.
