Job DescriptionSWJ Technologie specializes in providing engineering, planning, and project management services across various industries. We are currently seeking a Mobility Software Engineer for a client in the automotive industry, specializing in car manufacturing. This is a long-term contractor role based in Greenville, SC that requires onsite presence. PURPOSE:
Develops leading edge technologies and know-how from Industry, partner companies, local universities and internal partners into automotive concepts, then into project development and Integration processes. Identifies emerging technologies in order to build software and/or hardware prototypes and production ready solutions. Areas of focus include but not limited to Vehicle IT, Mobility, Social Networks, web and other enabling technologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designs and develops both native mobile applications and cloud-based (AWS) solutions using microservices (SpringBoot) with Angular as the front-end platform.
  • Defines and documents application functionality through use cases, business process flows, UI/UX design, UML, and API modeling as necessary.
  • Participates in multiple concurrent development initiatives, serving as a subject matter expert in areas including customer implementations, portal workflows, and identity management.
  • Collaborates with other developers to implement features following established style guides, coding standards, and best practices.
  • Reviews designs and prototypes, performs demos, and provides ongoing application support.
  • Leads the visualization and realization of emerging technologies—transitioning concepts and prototypes into fully integrated, production-ready solutions for automotive environments.
  • Provides expert knowledge and troubleshooting support as the primary technical contact for engineering teams.
  • Acts as an internal consultant across the software development lifecycle, assisting with design, development, integration, and testing phases.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date technical and non-technical documentation related to assigned projects and areas of responsibility.
  • Analyzes business-critical processes, recommends improvements, and ensures alignment with performance metrics and service agreements.
  • Designs, builds, and deploys software using lower environments and a fully automated CI/CD process (preferably using GitHub Actions).
  • Follows DevOps principles and industry-standard development processes to ensure reliable and scalable solutions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS Degree in Business, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred OR the equivalent of 4 years professional IT related experience. MS degree (preferred).
  • 5+ years in IT with at least 2+ years in mobile, web, or vehicle IT development
  • Demonstrated experience in software design, development, testing, and deployment


REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Cloud Technologies: Strong AWS experience (ECS, RDS, VPC, S3, etc.)
  • Programming Languages: Java (SpringBoot Microservices), JavaScript, Angular
  • Web Services: REST APIs, JSON/XML
  • DevOps Tools: CI/CD (GitHub or equivalent), GitHub Actions
  • Databases: PostgreSQL, Oracle, Cassandra
  • Testing: Postman, SOAP UI, JMeter (performance testing), writing API/UI test cases

Mobile Development:

  • XML GUI Styling (Android)
  • Experience with Eclipse/Xcode and mobile platforms (Android/iOS)
  • Knowledge of mobile platform standards, deployment, and fragmentation
  • Experience in the automotive industry


PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • ForgeRock IDM experience
  • Exposure to Kubernetes (K8s) and Linux OS administration
  • Experience with HTML5, Objective-C


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to, sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.


FLSA STATUS/WORKING SCHEDULE:

  • Location: Greenville, SC 95%, Travel 5%
  • Schedule: Day shift, 40/h
  • Assignment Start: October 1, 2025
