- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles, including engine diagnostics, transmission work, brake systems, and tire maintenance.
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify and address potential mechanical issues before they lead to significant problems.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and software to accurately assess vehicle performance and identify areas needing attention.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and minimal downtime for fleet vehicles.
- Stay updated on the latest industry standards and best practices to provide the highest level of service.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably with a focus on commercial vehicles such as semi-trucks and trailers.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and braking systems.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software used in vehicle maintenance.
- Welding experience preferred
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus.
