Summary

The Supervisor of Residential Services (SRS) leads their team towards the common goal of serving individuals experiencing homelessness. The SRS ensures their team is properly trained in all areas of Residential Services and are utilizing the tools that are provided to complete their assigned duties. The SRS will support in the recruitment of Residential team members, directly supervise their team to ensure exemplary services to the residents in the program.

Essential Functions

  • Demonstrates proficient understanding of both RSC I and RSC II roles and duties and is able to step in and support these tasks as needed.
  • Recruits, recommends candidates for hire, and manages Residential Services Coordinators I and II.
  • Trains team members as needed to complete their daily tasks, assigns tasks, and monitors work performance.
  • Writes and delivers performance evaluations.
  • Recommends and administers disciplinary action, while engaging and retaining a high-performing, accountable workforce.
  • Enters and updates client-specific data in a database, ensuring accuracy and compliance with grant funding requirements.
  • Provides client-specific referrals and resources based on need (e.g. medical, housing, employment).
  • Communicates effectively in both written and verbal correspondence, and maintains regular open office hours to support client needs.
  • Conducts individual supervision and team meetings with team members to support professional growth and reinforce group expectations.
  • Collaborates with colleagues to address concerns or barriers to client success in a solution-focused manner.
  • Monitors program outcomes, data accuracy, and efficiency for their team's work, including reviewing and editing Time and Activity records for all direct team members.
  • Assists manager in ensuring employees meet agency policies, procedures, and training requirements.
  • Ensures a welcoming, safe, inclusive, culturally sensitive living environment for the clients.
  • Performs client drug testing (breathalyzer/urinalysis) in sober program settings.
  • Assists with roll-ups, clean-up, and sanitization of contaminated bed areas as needed.
  • Creates and facilitates monthly client “house meetings”.
  • Provides mandatory support for the Inclement Weather Shelter during wet/cold months as needed.
  • Supports 24/7 program operations, which may require working overtime. (e.g. come in early, staying late, working a six-day week)
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • At least one (1) year social service experience
  • At least six (6) months of leadership experience
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to participate in an annual Tuberculosis (TB) screening and/or other screenings as required. Reasonable accommodations may be provided where appropriate.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred (ability to read, write, and speak in Spanish)
