Residence Supervisor
Pay $66,300
Independent Living Association (ILA) has been providing high quality care to Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities for more than 30 years. Function:
Reporting to the Area Coordinator, the Residence Supervisor supervises the day-to-day operations of the residence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific duties include the following but are not limited to:
- Ensures safety and sanitation in the residences and that adequate support services (vendors, suppliers) are maintained.
- The individual Vocational and Health management of the Individuals. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
§ Assuring for the initial and periodic (semiannually & annually) follow-up of the Individual’s programmatic & clinical assessment
§ Conducts the IDT meeting and writes the minutes for the monthly Interdisciplinary Team Meeting (IDT)
§ The regular monitoring of the individual’s needs regarding:
§ Medical/Dental/Psychological needs
§ Social and Recreational needs
§ ADL/Vocational/Educational/Self Preservation skills
§ Family & Community functioning & participation
§ Monitoring of the individual's finances & financial needs
§ Vacation Planning
Responsible for Staffing and Staff Supervision: The Supervisor, together with the assistant supervisor, is responsible for proper and adequate staffing of the facility. The Supervisor primarily holds that responsibility, and directs the assistant in the accurate fulfillment of that task. These duties include, but are not limited to:
§ Monitoring and directing of staff responsible for the daily operations of the physical plant;
§ Responsible for the training, guiding and motivation of the staff, in the implementation of the Individuals treatment plans;
§ Ensuring that the recommendations of the IDT Team are carried out;
§ Responsible for good community relations, especially the immediate, surrounding community;
§ Responsible for supervising the assistant supervisor, especially in the areas of the ordering, stocking, and maintenance of the house and household supplies;
§ Completes and administers all performance evaluations of union staff;
§ Responsible for employee relations. Resolve employee related problems and issues. Conflict resolution;
§ Participates in administering the Agency’s progressive disciplinary program;
§ Conducts suspensions and participates in employment terminations;
§ Participates in the grievance process with union employees.
§ Overseeing the Active Treatment of the Individuals, such as, training; observation; role modeling;
§ The Residence Supervisor is responsible for attending conferences and/or training sessions at the direction of the Area Coordinator/Residence Director. The Residence Supervisor is responsible for the timely maintenance of all written records/reports appropriate to the duties of the position. These include, but are not limited to: the IDT/ISP minutes; physical plant checklists; accounting department requests; PDR; staff evaluations.
§ As part of the hiring process, attend job/career fairs and open houses with Human Resource Recruiter.
§ The Residence Supervisor is responsible for providing emergency coverage of the residence as the occasion may arise.
§ The Residence Supervisor is responsible for the timely maintenance of all written records/reports appropriate to the duties of the position. These include, but are not limited to: the IDT reports; physical plant checks; accounting department requests; time sheets; vacation schedules; staff evaluations.
§ The Residence Supervisor is "on-call" 7 days a week, 24 hrs. /day. On vacation time and/or holiday time when the Supervisor has been given time off, the Assistant Supervisor will and is expected, to take the calls.
The following duties are part of the Supervisor’s responsibilities, and are performed on a Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly or Annually basis as needed or assigned.
§ Attend all Day program meetings
§ A tracking/routing sheet will be used to ensure that correspondence from the day program advocates/correspondents is forwarded to all parties that have a need to know (nurses, psychologists, etc.).
§ The Assistant Supervisor will be assigned by the Supervisor the responsibility to check at least once a week, on the data collection, and to coordinate this with the QMRPs;
Daily: Assigns the AMAP/Driver/DCW for Clinic visits;
Observes Active Treatment/Staff Interaction;
Reads the Logs, & Communicates with Staff.
Follow up as necessary.
Initials the log as read.
Weekly: Reviews residential rehabilitation data.
Staff meetings as necessary.
Monthly: Staff in-service, along with the other members of the IDT Team.
Annually: Attend Day Program Annual Reviews;
Assure that all evaluations are current, accurate, and submitted.
Chairs the IDT meeting.
As Needed: Communicates with the Day providers;
Communicates with Families/Correspondents/Advocates.
Inform Team members of changes in resident’s status
Participate in/attend agency training;
Maintain agency Mini Van, and keep vehicle log/maintenance schedule. This can include assigning someone to be responsible for the Mini Van, and maintaining a vehicle schedule.
Requirements:
§ Bachelor’s degree in Health or Human Services.
§ Minimum of two years of supervisory experience with the developmentally disabled population is preferred.
§ Minimum two years related experience in a social service setting.
§ Must have a valid NYS drivers’ license.
