Job Summary

As a Threat Management & Security Specialist, you will be at the forefront of protecting the mission and personnel of the Executive Office for the United States Attorneys (EOUSA) and the United States Attorneys' Offices (USAOs). This critical role combines high-stakes threat assessment, security coordination, and interagency collaboration to ensure the safety and resilience of Department of Justice (DOJ) personnel and infrastructure. You’ll navigate complex security challenges, liaise with federal law enforcement, and help implement cutting-edge protective measures in a dynamic environment. Location: Washington, DC or Columbia, SC

Clearance Level: Public Trust (Tier 4)

Position is contingent upon award of the contract from the government.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, review, and analyze incoming Urgent Reports to determine credible threats and appropriate initial responses.
  • Maintain active tracking of ongoing threats against EOUSA and USAO personnel and facilities using secure databases and reporting tools.
  • Collaborate with the US Marshals Service Threat Management Center (TMC) to exchange threat intelligence and ensure field notifications and responses are timely and accurate.
  • Coordinate the implementation of physical and operational countermeasures with internal and external vendors, including procuring estimates and facilitating approved installations.
  • Support the residential security needs of DOJ personnel by conducting surveys, gathering estimates, and overseeing installation of security systems.
  • Process and track Deputation applications, ensuring timely renewals and compliance with DOJ requirements.
  • Participate in investigations and inquiries into losses, thefts, criminal activity, workplace violence, and premises intrusions.
  • Provide security guidance for new construction, expansions, and renovations of USAO offices to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing procurement documentation for approved security measures and maintain thorough documentation of all actions taken.
  • Serve as a vital liaison with law enforcement and intelligence agencies, ensuring threat credibility assessments are accurate and timely.
  • Contribute to special projects and security-related studies impacting departmental operations and infrastructure protection.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience, or 8 years of experience in lieu of a degree in areas such as law enforcement, intelligence analysis, force protection, or security operations.
  • Proven ability to assess and respond to threats in high-pressure environments with discretion and sound judgment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in case documentation, incident reporting, and interagency correspondence.
  • Demonstrated success in working collaboratively with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
  • Familiarity with security protocols, threat management systems, and emergency response planning in federal environments.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities and time-sensitive tasks.
