Key Qualifications:
- Active and valid certification/licensure as a School Psychologist (as required by New York State)
- Prior experience in school-based psychological services, or strong internship/practicum training
- Proficient in conducting psycho-educational assessments and interpreting data
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to foster relationships with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to travel between two school districts as part of your weekly schedule
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive psychological evaluations for students, including cognitive, academic, social, emotional, and behavioral assessments
- Collaborate in the development and implementation of IEPs and behavioral intervention plans
- Act as a resource for teachers, staff, and families regarding student learning and emotional concerns
- Consult with classroom teachers regarding interventions and provide guidance for at-risk students
- Participate in or lead meetings related to special education eligibility, placement, and student progress
- Support crisis intervention efforts and deliver counseling services as appropriate
