This position supports the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Transport Services Directorate (IE) and its Cyber NetOps Tools Division (IEA) on the Operational Support System (OSS) Legacy Systems Sustainment effort. OSS comprises tools and enclaves used by DISA Tier II/III to monitor, control, analyze, and manage DoDIN/DISN equipment; while OSS is a legacy environment being replaced by the cloud‑based Global Management System (GMS), it must be sustained to ensure continuity of operations during transition. Primary work is performed at Ft. Meade.
Mission of the role. Your charge is to keep OSS reliable, secure, and accredited across lab and production by sustaining: (1) the OSS Lab Network, (2) Network Services (AAA, DNS, NTP, Syslog, SAN/NAS/Brocade, RDP), (3) CDBA, (4) JSME, and (5) OSS Firewalls/technical refresh—using a lab‑first pipeline, disciplined change control (IP/DP with reversion), STIG/IAVA patching, and clear documentation.
Overview:
A DBA to sustain JSME (incl. Oracle DB, WebLogic, Java) across lab and production: break‑fix, patching, IAVA remediation, testing, configuration guidance, and anticipated database upgrade during the course of the contract
Support Scope:
Restore service during outages; perform recurring maintenance; maintain STIG/IAVA posture; plan and test upgrades in lab first; develop monthly performance metrics for platform/DB/app; produce IP/DPs, test reports, RFCs, after‑action and RCA on request.
Key Responsibilities:
Break‑Fix & Upgrades
- Triage incidents; coordinate major version changes with Government; execute DB upgrade plan via lab‑validated IP/DP.
Security & Accreditation - Maintain OS/COTS/GOTS patching; manage exceptions when risk outweighs benefit; provide scan evidence.
Performance & Reporting - Generate monthly metrics; contribute to activity reports and QASP metrics.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 6+ years Oracle DBA with WebLogic administration; Java stack troubleshooting.
- DoD 8140 IAT‑II; RMF/ATO artifacts and lab‑first testing discipline.
Preferred Certifications:
- Oracle OCP; WebLogic 12c; Security+/CISSP.
Work Environment:
- Primarily on the high side at Government facilities; core hours; monthly metrics due on the 15th. Clearance: Top Secret/Secret
