Position: Site Foreman / Lead Operator – Retaining Walls & Site Work
We are seeking a highly experienced Site Foreman / Lead Operator to oversee and actively participate in site work projects involving retaining walls (including gabion walls), drainage systems, and general earthwork.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can both run a job and work alongside the crew. The ideal candidate is confident in reading plans, laying out work, and communicating effectively with both field teams and management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate daily site operations
- Interpret and execute plans, grades, and specifications accurately
- Perform layout using hubs, benchmarks, and elevations
- Oversee construction of retaining walls (gabion and conventional)
- Direct drainage installation, material placement, and site grading
- Operate equipment as needed and support crew productivity
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to spec
- Communicate clearly with project managers, clients, and team members
Qualifications:
- Strong experience in site work, excavation, and drainage systems
- Proven background with retaining wall construction (gabion experience preferred)
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and elevations
- Skilled in site layout, grading, and benchmark control
- Leadership experience as a foreman, lead operator, or site supervisor
- Hands-on, problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
- Reliable, organized, and capable of managing field operations
