Elaine Ellis Center of Health has an immediate opening for a full time Front Desk Associate at our 2 locations in Washington , DC and College Park, MD. Qualified applicants must be bilingual in Spanish and English and should have at least 3 years experience in medical front desk reception.
This position involves performing the full scope of services related to the timely and efficient process of patient scheduling and registration and community outreach. This position may have extended work hours. Qualified applicants will be reliable, punctual, and will be proficient in managing multiple phone lines and navigating the EMR.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Perform all assigned activities and functions of the Front Desk.
· Schedule, reschedule and confirm patient appointments.
· Greet patients and visitors, determine the nature of their visit and direct them accordingly.
· Receive incoming telephone calls in a timely manner and professionally respond to callers’ requests.
· Gather required patient information and review registration forms for completeness.
· Contact or review insurance systems to determine benefit coverage and co-pays.
· Receive and respond to requests for information from other providers, insurance companies and/or pharmacies.
· Advise patients of financial obligations (co-payments and/or outstanding balances)
· Assemble patient charts, enter data and scan documents into EMR.
· Retrieve and print referrals and appointment information for patients.
· Actively participate in team training for patient centered care coordination.
· Manage customer inquiries and complaints, referring patient grievances and documenting, as appropriate.
· Perform routine clerical tasks, including but not limited to, receiving/sorting mail, keyboard entry, maintaining logs, copying, filing and faxing.
· Assist in maintaining office supplies.
· Represent the Center at professional organization meetings and training related to front desk functions.
· Participate in outreach and offsite programs as assigned.
· Perform other duties and assists with special projects as assigned.
