Maintenance Manager - Food Manufacturing
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager with a strong background in food manufacturing to lead plant maintenance operations, drive equipment reliability, and support a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
This is a high-impact leadership role within a regulated food production environment requiring strong technical expertise and proven team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
● Lead and develop the maintenance department to achieve safety, uptime, and production performance goals
● Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability
● Analyze downtime trends, conduct root cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective actions
● Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, SQF/BRC, and other food safety standards
● Manage departmental budgets and ensure maintenance projects are completed on time and within budget
● Partner cross-functionally with plant leadership, QA, and engineering to support operational and capital improvement initiatives
● Promote a strong safety culture and regulatory compliance across all maintenance activities
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering field (or equivalent experience)
● 8+ years of combined technical and leadership experience in food manufacturing
● Strong working knowledge of GFSI/BRC, SQF, GMP, HACCP, and food safety audit environments
● Hands-on expertise in mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, instrumentation, and controls
● Experience with SAP or other ERP systems; proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital tools
● Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive accountability, and improve plant reliability in a fast-paced production environment
Compensation & Benefits:
● Base Salary: $94,000 – $140,000
● 15% Target Bonus
● Relocation Assistance up to $15,000 (grossed up for tax impact)
