Job Summary:
The Store Manager (SM) is a full-time position that reports to the VP of Sales & Marketing . The La Sportiva Retail Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, leading the team, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role ensures operational excellence, drives sales performance, manages inventory, and builds a culture aligned with the outdoor lifestyle and values of our brand.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop store staff.
- Inspire a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team environment.
- Create and manage staff schedules to ensure coverage and productivity.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and performance evaluations.
Sales & Customer Experience
- Drive store performance to meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs.
- Lead by example in providing knowledgeable and authentic customer service.
- Train staff on product knowledge, outdoor safety, and ethical outdoor practices.
- Resolve customer issues efficiently and with professionalism.
Operations & Merchandising
- Oversee day-to-day store operations including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and security.
- Maintain visual merchandising and product displays in alignment with brand standards.
- Monitor and manage inventory, restocking, and shrinkage.
- Manage the operation of resoling services – Re-Soul Lab .
- Ensure store is clean, organized, and compliant with safety and health regulations
Marketing & Community Engagement
- Support and execute in-store promotions, events, and seasonal campaigns.
- Build relationships with local outdoor clubs, nonprofits, and the community.
- Represent the brand at local events or outdoor expos as needed.
- Oversee and market services of the Re-Soul Lab.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of retail management experience (outdoor retail experience strongly preferred).
- Passion for outdoor activities and strong product knowledge in categories such as mountaineering, climbing, trail running, ski mountaineering etc.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Passionate customer service advocate, inspiring others to provide positive solutions to customers’ needs.
- Proven ability to lead a team and drive results.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to work in varied conditions (may include occasional outdoor events)
