Are you a passionate legal professional ready to make a difference in the healthcare industry? Presbyterian Healthcare Services (PHS) is on the lookout for a motivated and experienced Staff Attorney, Level I to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will provide in-house counsel advice and services to PHS and its affiliates, tackling a variety of legal projects that impact our integrated healthcare system.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Staff Attorney, you will:
- Offer legal advice and guidance across all aspects of PHS operations.
- Review and provide feedback on legal documents.
- Support care units and operations throughout our delivery system.
- Assist the Risk Management and Legal departments.
- Educate and train staff to identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks.
- Participate in call rotations for legal emergencies.
- Triage and respond to subpoenas and law enforcement requests.
- Collaborate with hospital departments to achieve educational and business objectives.
- Attend various internal teams and assist with contract drafting and patient complaint documentation.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A Juris Doctor (JD) Degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the State Bar of New Mexico or the ability to obtain it quickly.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as an attorney, preferably in a healthcare or litigation setting.
- A strong desire to learn about federal and state healthcare laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with various stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to different PHS facilities.

Compensation: Maximum offer for this position is up to USD $56.92/Hr. Please note that compensation may vary based on experience, training, and organizational needs.
