Make a difference in the lives of young learners by supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher for a contract assignment during the upcoming school year. This rewarding opportunity runs from August 10, 2026, through May 21, 2027, with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 7:15am to 2:45pm, totaling 37.5 hours per week. The position focuses on providing specialized instruction and support to preschool students in grades 3K and 4K.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification issued by the State of South Carolina (required, no exceptions)
- Background working with early childhood and elementary-level students, preferably in a school setting
- Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and adapting materials for diverse learners
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school staff
- Familiarity with evidence-based instructional strategies and behavioral interventions
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and track individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student on the caseload
- Deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction tailored to young learners with varying abilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support personnel to ensure a cohesive educational experience
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports academic and social-emotional growth
- Regularly communicate with families to share progress and strategies for success
- Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with state and federal requirements
