Gray’s Specialty Equipment segment offers a comprehensive range of expert services, including design, manufacturing, integration, installation, and maintenance of some of the most advanced systems in the food, industrial, pharmaceutical, and vacuum science markets. From components to fully integrated equipment, we provide purpose-built solutions that integrate seamlessly into larger facility design-build, expansion, and retrofit projects.
The Specialty Equipment segment includes Anderson Dahlen, located in Ramsey, MN and Waconia, MN, and AD Process Equipment, located in Naperville, IL. Anderson Dahlen specializes in stainless steel and specialty alloy fabrication and is ISO 9001:2015 certified, as well as ASME, AWS, and PED compliant. AD Process Equipment features a dedicated control panel fabrication shop, in-house engineering capabilities, and manufacturing space to support customized process system solutions.
The wage range for this role takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; as well as other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $20 to $25 hourly.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
Provide work experience for an Engineering student in the field of Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Accept work direction from engineers which includes design and development of products, driving continuous improvement initiatives, problem solving, and influencing cross functional teams.
- The successful candidate will be assigned work with senior engineers to perform technical tasks within the Engineering group for both new and ongoing engineering projects.
- Writing test protocol and reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALITIFCATIONS FOR ENTRY:
- Engineering students, preferably Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering enrolled in a 4-year accredited college program, with minimum sophomore year completed by May 2022.
- Strong engineering aptitude with good ‘hands-on’ skills.
- Interest in design, test, systems, and/or production engineering fields.
- Working knowledge of computer aided design (CAD) software.
- Interest in design, test, systems, and/or production engineering fields.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Ability to take work direction as a learning opportunity.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Project).
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently and organize/prioritize job assignments and tasks.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to management and cross functional team members.
