Job Description

Metro Physical Therapy is looking for a certified Personal Trainer to work with us in a per diem capacity starting Spring 2026. This is a 1099 independent contractor role with flexible scheduling, making it a great option for trainers looking to earn some extra income while building experience!

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate clients’ fitness levels and health conditions. Identify clients that should consult with a professional therapist before exercising or need to start with therapy prior to exercising.
  • Build individualized exercise programs and when appropriate in conjunction with the appropriate therapist.
  • Lead both individual and group training sessions, exercise classes and aqua fitness classes.
  • Promote the gym’s fitness options and therapy services.
  • Perform CPR and administer first aid in case of emergencies.
  • Advise customers on how to change nutritional and lifestyle habits as needed Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of Metro, rules and policies, and works to ensure the compliance with the stated parameters.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a personal trainer or relevant role.
  • MUST HAVE a current certification in personal training
  • Must come with liability insurance
  • Certificates in CPR and first aid.



Additional Information

The anticipated hourly pay range for this position is $45-50/hr. Compensation is based on various factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the staff member is frequently required to walk, stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The staff member can regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
