Position: Maintenance Manager (Direct hire)
Shift: Dayshift hours
Salary: $93K-110K
Location: Blaine, MN
Position Summary | Objective
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading a high-performing team to ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of all equipment, facilities, and systems. This role focuses on strategic planning, team development, preventive maintenance, compliance, and continuous improvement. Utilizing CMMS tools and enforcing safety protocols, the Maintenance Manager drives cost efficiency, minimizes downtime, and supports long-term operational goals.

Key Responsibilities | Duties and Tasks
People Management

Lead, mentor, and evaluate maintenance staff; conduct performance reviews and regular check-ins

Address performance issues promptly and recognize strong performance

Manage recruitment, terminations, and succession planning
-
Create and maintain employee skill charts; set and track development goals
-
Promote cross-training to close skill gaps and improve coverage
-
Consistently enforce company policies and procedures

Facilitate team meetings and one-on-one discussions to share updates and address concerns

Schedule team workloads and allocate tasks through CMMS; audit completed work
-
Approve timecards and time-off requests
Safety & Compliance
-
Promote a safety-first culture; work toward zero-incident goals
-
Maintain documentation to ensure compliance with regulations
-
Oversee hazardous waste management
-
Track and report safety and performance KPIs
-
Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Operations & General Management
-
Approve maintenance-related expenditures
-
Collaborate with leadership on planning, goal setting, and resource management

Develop and maintain SOPs, training materials, and CMMS usage
-
Report and interpret KPIs to drive performance improvement
-
Negotiate and manage service contracts for facility maintenance and repairs
-
Use data-driven problem-solving to resolve equipment/process failures and close training gaps
Facilities Oversight

Assist in capital planning and budgeting
-
Coordinate contractors for routine maintenance and construction projects

Support large technical projects when needed

Oversee infrastructure equipment and manage lifecycle strategy
Equipment Management

Coordinate maintenance schedules with other departments
-
Oversee daily repair and maintenance of production and facility equipment
System Administration

Implement and manage a preventive maintenance program

Maintain a critical asset list with monthly reporting
-
Lead Lockout/Tagout and confined space compliance programs
-
Keep accurate maintenance records and approve related invoices
-
Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Success Factors

Demonstrates strong leadership and alignment with core workplace values

Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of related experience or 5+ years of progressive experience in a maintenance environment

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
