Litigation Attorney
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Litigation Attorney to join our dynamic litigation team. The ideal candidate will manage complex civil and commercial disputes from investigation through trial and appeal, working on matters that span antitrust, whitecollar, intellectual property (including patent and trademark), technology, and commercial litigation. This role requires a strong advocate with excellent legal analysis, courtroom experience, and the ability to provide strategic counsel to clients in highstakes matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of litigation, including case assessment, discovery strategy, motion practice, trial preparation, and appeals.
- Draft and argue motions, pleadings, briefs, and appellate filings; present oral arguments in trial and appellate courts as needed.
- Conduct factual and legal investigations, take and defend depositions, and oversee document review and ediscovery processes.
- Counsel clients on litigation risk, case strategy, settlement negotiations, and alternative dispute resolution (mediation/arbitration).
- Collaborate with partners, associates, experts, and cocounsel to develop litigation strategies for complex antitrust, commercial, whitecollar, and IP matters.
- Manage and mentor junior attorneys and paralegals; delegate tasks, review work product, and provide constructive feedback.
- Coordinate crossdisciplinary teams on technology and patent disputes, including working with technical experts and supporting IP portfolio enforcement and defense.
- Maintain uptodate knowledge of relevant legal developments, precedents, and industry trends; contribute to client pitches and business development efforts.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and membership in good standing with a state bar.
- 5+ years of litigation experience in a law firm or government practice; experience across commercial, antitrust, whitecollar, and/or IP litigation preferred.
- Proven trial and appellate experience, including oral argument, motion practice, and briefing.
- Substantive experience with intellectual property matterspatent, trademarkand comfort coordinating technical expert discovery and claim construction issues.
- Familiarity with antitrust litigation and enforcement matters, and experience in whitecollar defense or complex commercial disputes.
- Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills, with a track record of persuasive drafting and courtroom presence.
- Ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines, and communicate clearly with clients and colleagues.
- Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills, including mentoring junior staff and contributing to business development activities.
- Technologysavvy with familiarity in ediscovery platforms, case management tools, and handling technologyrelated disputes.
