Job Description

Job Description

AGF Talent is partnering with a fast-growing defense technology company to find a Senior Solutions Engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience who is ready to bring their national security expertise and software implementation skills to one of the most consequential missions in the country.

In this role, you will be the senior technical expert embedded with military clients, owning implementation, driving adoption, and advising senior government leaders on how to get the most out of a sophisticated data platform. This is a high-visibility role for someone who has been in the national security space and wants to make a direct impact using technology.

This role requires approximately 75% travel to client sites at U.S. military bases, with occasional international travel. Candidates should be fully comfortable with a travel-heavy schedule and energized by regular, direct engagement with the national security community.

Who We Are Looking For

The right candidate has accumulated real experience at the intersection of technology and national security. You may be a military veteran who has transitioned into a technical or analytical civilian role, a former government analyst who has spent years working with data tools in a defense or intelligence context, or a software implementation professional who has consistently supported clients in the government or defense sector. You understand how the national security community operates from the inside, and you know how to earn trust with senior military and civilian officials.

You have hands-on experience implementing or supporting a software platform for external clients, and you are comfortable owning the technical side of that relationship. You are not a generalist consultant cycling through industries, and you are not looking for a help desk or support queue role. You want to be a senior expert in a focused, high-stakes domain and do meaningful work.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the full implementation lifecycle for government clients, from technical configuration and data integration (SQL/Python) to executive-level briefings at military installations
  • Serve as the senior technical point of contact for assigned clients, building trusted relationships with program managers, analysts, and senior officials
  • Translate platform data into polished analytical reports and visualizations for senior government and military stakeholders
  • Drive platform adoption through targeted training programs, custom documentation, and proactive client engagement strategies
  • Partner with Account Managers and Product teams to surface client needs and shape the product roadmap
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses on national security challenges using AI-enabled data tools
  • Support business development efforts through compelling product demonstrations to prospective clients
  • Travel regularly to client sites at military bases across the U.S., with occasional international travel

What We Are Looking For

Required:

  • 5 to 10 years of professional experience in a role that intersects technology, data, and national security
  • U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Proficiency in SQL and/or Python; technical skills will be assessed during the interview process
  • Demonstrated connection to the national security community, such as military service, work in a defense or intelligence agency, a degree in Political Science, International Relations, or National Security, or sustained professional focus on defense or government clients
  • Hands-on experience implementing, configuring, or supporting a software platform for external clients (SaaS environment strongly preferred)
  • Proven ability to communicate complex data findings clearly to executive-level audiences
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field

Preferred:

  • Active U.S. security clearance
  • Direct experience working with or within the U.S. military, DoD, or a federal agency (any branch or department)
  • Experience presenting findings and recommendations to senior government or military officials
  • Background in defense acquisition, program management, supply chain risk, or related government processes
  • Experience with data visualization tools and building briefings for non-technical audiences

What This Role Is Not

This is not a cybersecurity role, a help desk position, or a generalist consulting engagement. We are looking specifically for someone with a focused background in national security and a track record of delivering results in a technical client-facing capacity. Candidates without a clear connection to the national security space will not be the right fit.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base Salary: $120,000 to $140,000 depending on experience
  • Significant bonus potential
  • Relocation assistance provided
  • Travel expenses fully covered
