POSITION SUMMARY
Inspect and perform preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers. Diagnose and repair engine and drive train mechanical and electrical problems. Complete accurate work completion records.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect trucks and trailers for damage or worn parts.
- Perform and accurately record preventive maintenance on all units.
- Diagnose and repair unit malfunctions using latest techniques and equipment.
- Accurately fill out work completion reports as required.
- Clean and tidy the work area.
- Observe all safety and other shop rules
- Such other maintenance duties as may be assigned.
- Shift Schedule: M-F: 2:30 PM- 11:00 PM

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Certification from an accredited diesel technology program and two years of hands diesel mechanic experience.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Strong customer orientation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Sufficient dexterity and strength to use hand tools and operate mechanical devices utilized in truck and trailer repair. Exerts up to 50 lbs. of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Job involves walking, standing or stooping for long periods. Must have ability to safely climb stairs, ladders, and equipment footholds. Some work from heights is required. Some work in cold or hot weather conditions required. Must possess ability to work nights and weekends where required.
