Assistant Branch Manager

We’re seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to support the daily operations of one of our Credit Union branches. In this role, you’ll work side-by-side with the Branch Manager to ensure the branch meets organizational, financial, operational, service, and growth goals — all while helping develop a well-trained, engaged, and motivated team.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Assisting the Branch Manager with developing, coordinating, and evaluating branch staff to foster a cohesive and high-performing team
- Ensuring the branch complies with credit union policies and procedures, as well as federal and state regulations and NCUA requirements
- Supporting branch audits and preparing reports to ensure ongoing compliance
- Serving members by selling credit union products and services and assisting with loan requests and depository transactions in a timely and accurate manner
- Performing duties as Acting Branch Manager when the Branch Manager is out of the office
- Participating in effective sales meetings and supporting the branch’s growth and operational plans
- Providing timely feedback and observations to direct reports at least quarterly
- Keeping management informed of key operational issues affecting the branch
- Working collaboratively in a team environment while also being confident working independently
- Performing other related duties as assigned
You’ll Thrive In This Role If You:
- Have 3–5 years of similar or related experience, preferably in a financial institution
- Possess an in-depth understanding of regulations affecting deposit, loan, and accounting programs
- Are comfortable interpreting and applying policies, procedures, and regulations
- Enjoy coaching others, giving feedback, and helping employees grow
- Are goal-oriented with proven sales skills and a focus on member service
- Communicate effectively in person, on the phone, and in writing — with professionalism, confidentiality, and tact
- Have strong analytical, organization, and keyboarding skills
- Are confident using computers, email, internet, and standard office software
Education & Experience:
- A two-year college degree or
- Completion of a specialized certification, license, or vendor training or
- Job-specific skills gained through specialized training or an apprenticeship program
Performance Measurements Include:
- Supporting the Branch Manager in maintaining a productive, well-trained team ready for future growth
- Meeting or exceeding the branch’s annual operational budget and growth plan
- Actively contributing as a member of the organization’s management team
- Providing timely feedback and insight to leadership on branch operations
Physical & Work Environment:
- Ability to work in an office environment for at least 8 hours per day
- Primarily seated work with occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, or lifting up to 25 pounds
- Normal office working conditions with a quiet to moderate noise level
